The four elements

• Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
• Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
• Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
• Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Traditional matches

Signs of the same element are said to understand each other easily. Fire and Air are said to energise each other, and Earth and Water are said to nurture each other.

Opposites

Signs six apart, such as Aries and Libra, are opposites and are said to attract while challenging each other.
