Total Solar Eclipse 2027: Path, Visibility and Timings
The total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027 is often called the eclipse of the century for viewers in Europe and North Africa. Totality lasts over six minutes near Luxor in Egypt.
Where to see it
The path of totality starts in the Atlantic, crosses the Strait of Gibraltar, southern Spain and Morocco, runs along the North African coast through Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, then crosses Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
From India
India is outside the path of totality and the partial phase is not expected to be widely visible. Check a visibility map for your exact location.
Safety
Never look at the Sun without certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses. Only during the brief total phase, inside the path, is it safe to look with the naked eye.
